Cadogan Hall is a 950-seat venue near Sloane Square in the heart of Chelsea, hosting over 300 concerts and events per year.
Held at Cadogan Hall in October 2015, the ‘Women in the World: London’ summit saw some of the world’s most inspiring and impressive women come together to tell their stories. These included Meryl Streep, Nicole Kidman, Carey Mulligan, First Minister of Scotland Nicola Sturgeon, Cara Delevingne, Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah of Jordan and Liberian Nobel Peace Laureate Leymah Gbowee.
For any business, an effective IT infrastructure sustains more than business operations. It ensures continuous service delivery, which protects your reputation. For this high profile event at Cadogan Hall, we succeeded in surveying, specifying and installing a robust wireless solution.
It’s very difficult to simulate an actual network load before crowds arrive, which is why it’s important to take the time to design a network properly. Conosco planned the implementation carefully, estimating bandwidth usage based on the number of attendees and devices to install an appropriate wireless capacity.
We set up a public WiFi system for Cadogan Hall – capable of providing coverage throughout public areas, the hall, and media rooms – using several Meraki wireless access points and a customised end-user splash page run by Splash Access. By enabling the splash screen, Cadogan Hall was able to tailor the screen to individual conference needs as well as collect user information for marketing purposes. Cadogan Hall are now able to manage the splash page and customise the information for other events.
The Meraki WAPs’ robust, reliable wireless solutions allowed for faster connections and greater user capacity, which is vital for a conference of this magnitude. We proactively monitored the network and usage throughout the event, ensuring consistent connectivity.
Over the course of the conference, 478 delegates used the WiFi simultaneously with zero downtime.
